It seems to me that a lot of survival techniques are based on common sense, so I thought I'd ask, is bowstring hemp, sansevieria, mother-in-law's tongue….. actually good for bowstrings? And by that merit then, would it make durable clothing or other goods? My only real obstacle is that it's definitely like winter time here and I don't want to stress my only specimen by harvesting when it's cold.
Other than that, has anybody harvested the fiber from its leaves? What result did you get? is it better to rett them out or use another method? Unfortunately, I don't have a hackle, but do I need one?
